The "Tsukimi Yagura" (Moon-Viewing Turret) is located at the southeastern corner of Fukuyama Castle's main citadel, offering magnificent views of samurai residences, townhouses, and Fukuyama Bay in the distance. This two-story structure features a wraparound veranda with railings (kouran), where guests can savor the beauty of the night sky befitting its name, while experiencing the passage of timeless moments. Originally called "Chakumi Yagura" (Arrival-Watching Turret) to observe the lord's return during sankin-kotai (alternate attendance), it is a historical structure equipped with military features such as stone drops.
