Accommodation & Facilities

Built in 1933 (Showa 8), the Enjukaku Annex was constructed as a VIP guest room adjoining the Enjukaku, which served as the retirement quarters of Lord Kyogoku Takaaki, the sixth lord of the Marugame Domain of the Kyogoku family. This annex incorporates parts of the Kyogoku family's Edo residence, with materials such as flooring, ceilings, lintels, transoms, and decorative metal fittings relocated and reused. While the original Enjukaku was demolished in 1985 (Showa 60) due to deterioration, this annex also faced severe degradation and concerns about its preservation. However, in response to the strong wishes of Marugame citizens, it has now been restored and will be preserved and utilized through recent renovation work.

A wooden structure with a ceiling height of 120 square meters, this private space features traditional Japanese architectural details in the sukiya-style, offering guests an exclusive retreat.
